Old Lumber Showroom in Las Vegas

I recently had the privilege of designing the Las Vegas showroom for our favorite vendor, Old Lumber!

It was so much fun to create unique vignettes to showcase this incredible collection of reclaimed wood furniture. To help tell the story of the Old Lumber collection, we enhanced each vignette with salvaged and vintage goods. Old windows and doors became interior backdrops, while vintage books and rusty, old toolboxes lined the shelves. We made light fixtures from old wine barrel straps and sculptural driftwood, we re-purposed old frames as chalkboard signage, and we softened the whole look with burlap and grain sack pillows atop natural, linen sofas. Many of our traditional "Harvest" signatures could be found throughout the casually elegant space.

We enjoyed a fantastic response to our design and had such a wonderful time sharing this amazing resource with retailers from around the world.

Here are some of my favorite highlights...

I can't wait to integrate these fabulous new looks into the Harvest stores!

I have been in love with these darling tote bags for quite some time, and I'm thrilled to introduce them at Harvest this spring! What says summer more that a great striped beach bag or farmer's market shopper?

Anthro weddings!!!

I've always been interested in obsessed with all things wedding; dresses, decor, rings, vows, stationary, favors, cakes, first dances, bouquets, romance....
In planning my own wedding a couple years ago, my obsession grew as I learned of more and more fabulous resources for wedding design inspiration--don't get me started on the blogs!

You can imagine my excitement when I recently learned that the ever-inspiring Anthropologie would launch a collection of wedding ensembles! Don't you know it will be stunning? If only I could do it all over aga....just kidding!

Here's a sneak peek of the on-line shop that will open on (of course) February 14th! The wedding shop is called BHLDN (pronounced "Beholden"), and can be found at www.bhldn.com

Cute Kitchen!

I am currently working on a project in Menlo Park for a couple with transitional taste. They have transformed their new home from dark and dated to open and airy, mixing traditional and contemporary furnishings to create a dynamic look.
The homeowners have made the wise choice of creating a mostly neutral canvas of white and off-white interior finishes to which they can add elements of color and texture throughout the house.

In the kitchen, they wanted to add a vibrant contrast to the crisp white and stainless steel backdrop. With the homeowners' inspiration, I've suggested integrating bright blues and sunny yellows in the way of accent furniture and window treatments.
These fun colors can be further introduced into the design via accent pieces like tabletop decor, serve ware, hand towels, and the like.

Here are some items we're considering...

rustic blue cabinet filled with white dishes to juxtapose the clean lines of the built-in cabinetry

ikat patterns in blues and yellows for drapery panels to soften the hard surfaces while adding life and pop to the room

blue and white dishware

fresh and vibrant floral

perhaps a galvanized metal clock to accentuate the stainless steel appliances

I'll be sure to post our finished product!
