My new settee...

I am slowly, but surely getting the new house put together. I recently received my new settee from Harvest, and I'm thrilled with how it works the living room. Not only does it aesthetically enhance the half wall that overlooks our entry, but it also provides much needed additional seating when we are entertaining guests. It's not quite as large as a bed, but it does make a cozy little napping spot.

The details are fabulous!

My Antique Trunk

So here's that adorable trunk I was talking about in the previous post.
I placed it in the corner of our living room for now, but I imagine it might become an end table on one side of the sofa in the future.

It has a pressed tin exterior, leather handles on the side, and a nice time-worn patina.

The larger trunk behind it was a Harvest purchase from years ago. I still adore this one-of-a-kind piece. The wire ferris wheel was a wedding gift from my great boss, and the old noodle shop stool is a Harvest staple I can't live without.
You see, I'm not kidding when I say my house is filled with Harvest!
I'll show you my new settee in the next post.

Karsten's New Rugs...

Karsten, our store owner, just installed some new rugs in his own home. These beauties come from our fabulous new rug collection, Surya!
Lookin' good!

The graphic pattern of this rug brings contemporary appeal to an otherwise traditional interior.

You might have also noticed a few other Harvest furnishings in our store owner's home...
The Joel Leather Sofa and Rustic Trunk Coffee Table pictured above
and
the Simmons Armchair and Burlap Storage Cube pictured below...
All look great with the new rug!

This vibrant, striped rug brings color to the kid's room, provides a soft surface to play on, and will hold up to years of wear and tear in this high-traffic kid zone!

Christmas comes early for Jaye!

I recently received my beautiful new Kayhan chair from Harvest, and I la-la-love it!

You may not know this, but most of our upholstery can be manufactured with C.O.M. (Customer's Own Material)! Which means I was able to select the exact designer fabric that worked best in my new living room, and send it into our manufacturer so they could apply to one of my favorite chairs!

For this corner of our living room, I selected a light gray and white pinstripe from Robert Allen, called "Empire Stripe Ash".
(swatch pictured above)

I opted for the double welt, rather than the standard nailhead trim. Not that I don't love the nailhead trim, it's just that several other pieces in the room are accented with nailhead, and I didn't want to overdo it. The double welting came out flawless and helps to accentuate the pinstripe pattern positioned on the bias.

The chair turned out better than I ever expected; the details are so well-executed and the shape is superb!  A big thank you to the designers of our Transitions Collection!

More new house pics to come, stay tuned...

PS: I'd also like to give a shout out to the expert S and R Delivery team for getting my new furnishings here safely!
You guys are great!

Industrial Console

Our Dresden console is made of reclaimed wood, salvaged from shipyards, and encased in rustic iron for that industrial chic appeal.

Ideas...float your flat screen TV above it, place it as a console behind the sofa, or use in the foyer as a show-stopping conversation piece with purpose.

Color Update: Graphite Gray Sofas

Velvety, graphite-gray fabrics adorn the unique silhouettes of these sumptuous sofas. This cover choice is both inviting and durable, two attributes we always seek in Harvest furnishings. We will introduce this fantastic material to our floor sample sectional in this next season's floorset. I'll be sure to post pictures when our graphite-gray, velvet sofa comes in! In the meantime, enjoy these inspirational images!

Tufted detailing on this chesterfield sofa enhances the sheen and beauty of velvet

A softer shade of gray is refined and romantic

Silver-toned sleekness

this sofa is the color of cool, coastal fog, but its velvety texture exudes comfort and warmth

The graphite gray looks fantastic on both traditional and contemporary frames. Love the pop of orange accents in this room (see previous post).

Nailhead detailing adds an additional layer of style and tradition to this frame. This charcoal hue creates the perfect backdrop for the emerald green accents.

Note: most of these sofas are pictured against a backdrop wall painted in a lighter shade of gray. This monochromatic move allows infinite possibilities for accents in any color. Gray looks outstanding with orange, gorgeous with green, and beautiful with blue!
