The Lady's Tool Belt...

Those of you in the design trade, or anyone currently working on a design project of their own, will certainly be able to relate to this post by Rachel Halvorson of the Nest Egg Blog.
If you've ever found yourself on-site wishing you had a handy carry-all for your measuring tape, notebook, phone, etc, then you'll love this post from the witty and refreshingly honest designer who has come up with a classy and functional tool belt made to suit the needs of today's designing woman.

Click HERE to link to the Nest Egg post and add this design blog to your list of favorites!

I think she's onto something...

Rachel's design would include all of the essentials like a hammer, measuring tape, screwdriver, i-phone, and of course a little chocolate afternoon pick-me-up.

We're Inspired By... Tracery Interiors

Have you ever found yourself drawn to certain images on-line, before ever realizing that they were all coming from the same source? I have come across many of the images below in several publications, and saved each to my inspiration files over the years. Little did I know that there was one brilliant group putting all of this great work out there!
The talented team of Tracery Interiors continues to wow me with the release of each new project. From the summer lake house to the urban oasis, their work embodies unique style and one-of-a-kind charm. Their projects are refined, yet playful and inviting. And though their gorgeous interiors have graced the covers of major shelter magazines like House Beautiful and Southern Living, they've still maintained an approachable and family-friendly appeal.
Take a look!

Reconsidering the "Man Cave"...

Gone are the days of beer mirrors, neon signs and provocative posters; the new man caves are sophisticated, cozy, and filled with vintage flair. Ok, ok, maybe "flair" is the wrong word. Let's say... lived-in character, and the time-worn appeal of an old baseball glove.

Here are a few collected images to inspire you...

Unlike Fight Club, there are a few rules in the "Man Cave."
See below:

If you need help creating a man cave of your own, look no further than Harvest for unique treasures, comfortable furnishings, and inspiring ideas. We'll even venture out to the cave to help you put it all together!

Current Project: Healdsburg Farmhouse

I recently met a lovely couple who just purchased an incredible home in Healdsburg, CA. We immediately hit it off after discovering our shared enthusiasm for the romance and tranquility of wine country along with our desire to turn a classic farmhouse into the ultimate vineyard retreat!
Hello, dream project, nice to meet you!

--actual house -TDF (to die for!)--

We have been working on the schematic design over the past few weeks, sharing inspirational images and design ideas for each of the unique spaces. The homeowners are hoping to create a casually elegant retreat that connects the interiors with the gorgeous surrounding landscape. Our plan is to maintain the farmhouse simplicity and classic white interior details, adding life to the scheme with romantic florals and colorful patterns. We'll soften the look with inviting furnishings and rich textures to add depth and comfort.

The project is just getting underway, but I wanted to share some of the idea boards that we've put together so far. Feel free to comment and share your ideas.

As you can imagine, it has been such a pleasure to work on this incredible project.
I will be sure to post more images as our plans begin to take shape.

Inspiration Boards...

The inspiration board is such an amazing tool of self discovery.
If you're tackling a large project, I highly recommend collecting images and items of inspiration to display on an ever-changing board in your workspace. You can constantly add to and edit your board as new ideas present themselves. Eventually, you will  find that you have come up with the right composition of elements to create the outcome you've been dreaming of.

I have found this method to be highly effective, inspiring, and fun! I know you will too!

Restaurant Recommendation...

Every now and then a fabulous restaurant comes onto the scene that exemplifies the same refined comfort that we strive to achieve at Harvest.

We'd like to introduce you to Marlowe, Anna Weinberg's new eatery in SF's SoMa district, sure to please the palate as well as the eye.
Designer, Kendra Nicholas, has redone the space with inspiration from neighborhood butcher shops. We at Harvest appreciate her unique design and unpretentious details that make patrons feel right at home.

Exposed structure and inspirational quotes...

Reclaimed wood table tops...

Butcher paper rolls to display daily specials...

Scrumptious desserts served in vintage mason jars...

The comforts of home served in cast iron skillets...

Vintage riddling racks enhanced with fresh citrus
and used as wall decor...

...Come and get it!
