Cute Thanksgiving placecard idea...

Stamp each guest's name on a kraft paper luggage tag and tie to a mini pumpkin with twine.

(Luggage tags like these can be purchased in different sizes at Office Depot, and the mini pumpkins are probably on sale!)

Don't be jealous....

Why is it that as children we dreaded having to sit at the kids' table, hoping that next year we'd be big enough to take a place among the "sophisticated adults", and now that we've earned the right to sit at the grown-up table, we can't help but look over at the little ones, wishing we could trade places?

Here are some kid table ideas that will make you want to go back in time!

Cover a small table with a kraft paper "tablecloth" that calls for crayolas!
Keep little ones at their place by drawing a placemat and naming each seat.

Shape a grocery bag into a turkey and fill with popcorn for those finicky little eaters

Cover the everyday craft table with seasonal covers to give it an entirely new, dressed up appeal!

Turn inexpensive terra cotta pots into crayon-feathered turkeys with colored construction paper cut-outs

Serve popcorn trail mix in decorated pie tins to those whose palates are not yet sophisticated enough for pumpkin pie.

A Thanksgiving Tartlette...

Just came across this recipe on  the tartelette blog, and felt inspired to share in case you're in charge of bringing the dessert this Thanksgiving! If the pie tastes even half as good as the images look, you'll be the envy of all your relatives!

PS: Presentation is everything. If you don't have the time to follow this recipe step by step, find inspiration in the details...
Instead of making one large pumpkin pie, bake individual tartelettes for each of your guests. Even if the pie crust and  filling are store bought, always whip up some fresh whipped cream for a more natural presentation than you'll ever be able to squirt out of a can. Take a cue from these photos and add a home-made pumpkin seed garnish!

there, easy as pie!
