Last minute costume ideas...

I love this year's costume trend of dressing children as adult icons.
Check out these great grown-up get-ups...

Lucille Ball

Audrey Hepburn

Dwight Schrute (from television's The Office)

David Bowie

Nacho Libre

Please send pictures of your kids in costume!
We'd love to see what our clever customers have come up with!

Halloween Gross-Out Buffet...

With these Halloween buffet ideas it's less about "all you can eat" and more like "all you can take" without being too grossed out to consume.

shrimp cocktail brains

spinach dip vomit

hot dog mummies

marshmallow and caramel ear wax q-tips (eeewww...)

knife in the heart ribs

spider nest popcorn

brain cupcakes

bread bones

tentacle pot pie

marshmallow, apple, and peanutbutter mouths

I've found a few a these images elsewhere, but most of them come from one of my favorite bloggers, Jamie Rose. She's hilarious and candid and shares great ideas about food, fashion, and design.

Bat Bag

Don't go Trick-or-Treating without it.

Creeping Critters Centerpiece

Martha has done it again! If you're hosting a Ghoulish Gala this Halloween, you'll want to recreate this creepy centerpiece (from Martha Stewart). It has all the drama, beauty, and texture of a traditional fall table topper, with the eerie appeal of fright night!

Happy Hula-weiner!

I am just dying over these pets in Halloween costumes that I saw over at www.marthastewart.com.
I've posted just a few, but you must clink this link to see them all. Hilarious!
If you happen to dress your pet for Halloween, be sure to stop by the store and show us. We're hoping to get some pictures of the fabulous costumes that cruise through our doors this week and post them on the blog for all to see!
Why do people do this?

Oh, cause I love it.

Don't Miss the Annual Menlo Park Halloween Parade!

If you're planning to attend the always-adorable Menlo Park Halloween Parade, we hope you'll bring your little ones by the store for some tricks-and-treats! You'll find us right between the LeftBank and Vida restaurants!

Details:
Halloween Parade and Carnival

The annual Halloween Parade and Carnival is held the Saturday before Halloween. Come in costume and participate in the annual parade from Burgess Park to Fremont Park. Participants will receive a trick or treat bag. After the parade, trick or treat your way back to Burgess Park through Downtown Menlo Park at participating stores (like Harvest!) The Burgess Recreation Center will then open for a carnival for children ages 12 and under. Activities are co-sponsored by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce.
