Client Inspiration: Another Gorgeous Old Lumber Dining Room!

One of our clients was kind enough to send pictures of her gorgeous, new dining furniture from Harvest's Old Lumber Collection.

She writes:
"Hi, Kathleen. Here are a few shots of our new extension table, bench, and side chairs which were delivered yesterday. They are lovely, and look wonderful in my kitchen. The finish, legs, and dimensions on the table and chairs are perfect, and I love the shape and scale of the bench...I adore the furniture and Pablo's workmanship. Thanks again for all your help."   Regards—Wendy G.

The Cottage Table and Portobello Seating...

Our Cottage Dining Table comes in a variety of shapes and sizes from long rectangles to shorter rounds and even square! Its distressed details and high-polished finish make a rustic, yet refined statement, perfect for the casual dining room.

This table pairs perfectly with our x-back, portobello dining chairs and benches. They are different enough that they don't appear as a "matchy-matchy set", but scaled just right to compliment the table and complete the ensemble.

What size will work for you???

63" x 36" (shown above)

44" square

 48" round

72" x 40"

84" X 42"

96" x 44"

two finishes to choose from in all sizes!

Banquette Beauty....

I recently added a banquette bench to one side of my new dining table. I'm loving the varied seating options and decor opportunities that it provides.

I had always had my mind set on this BARREL LEG EXTENSION TABLE FROM OLD LUMBER (through Harvest), but I knew I wanted to contrast its rough textures with softer seating.

I've acheived this with my white linen, slipcovered Parsons chairs and soft gray, velvetty banquette. To break up all the gray, and add yet another layer of texture, I've draped a simple, off-white throw ($10 from ikea - score!) down the center of the banquette and added throw pillows made from french linens and vintage flour sacks, (pillows also available through Harvest). I envision changing the throw and accent pillows through the seasons to give the dining room a fresh new look.

Below are some more inspirational images of banquette styles in the dining room...Enjoy!

a great way to add color to an otherwise neutral dining space

tucked between two bookcases, this banquette almost appears built-in

a formal silhouette for a formal dining room

sleek, but comfy, and a perfect space saver in this long, narrow kitchen/dining room

amazing curves!

brilliant in blue

gracious in gray

love this ornate wood frame paired with the rustic round table

paired with an oval shaped table for easy in and out

even works in a small breakfast nook

transitional shape compliments the mid-century modern chairs

high back against the wall - great space saver with drama

great contrast in the soft tufted back against the rough wood grain of the table

such an amazing shape, with nailhead to accentuate the curvacious lines
the pillows add to the coastal character too

Vintage Beauty

I recently scored this amazing piece at a local antique shop.  I thought about bringing it into the store, but decided to keep it for myself. Sorry guys; it's just too perfect in my new dining room. :)

I love all the little drawers with labeled pulls, perfect for organizing small baubles like napkin rings, place cards, and votives. It's not your typical dining room buffet, but I think every room has a place for something out of the ordinary. I'll be sure to post pictures of the install once the dining room is complete.
If you're loving this look we carry a similar replica from Aidan Gray Home. The finish is more of a white-wash and the pulls are different, but the concept is the same. (see below)

We're always out and about gathering unique finds for the stores. If you ever have something specific in mind, just e-mail us and we'll put it on our request list.

Considering these new dining chairs...

Upon my return from the Vegas World Market, Karsten and I have been working on new and exciting items to introduce this fall. We're considering a few of these fabulous dining chair options, and would love your input on whether or not we should add them to our dining collections.
What do you think?

Looking forward to your thoughts and comments...
