My name is...Slim Storage!

(extra credit to any of you who got my Eminem reference in the title of this post. I'm such a geek.)

If you're searching for a slim storage piece that has a lot of character, but doesn't take up too much space, look no further. We've found it!

This slim cabinet comes from one of our favorite manufacturers, The Uttermost!
It measures 42" wide x 32" high, and get this...
only 10" deep!
It's perfect for those tight spaces in the hallway, stair landing or powder room. Hang a mirror above it and place it in the entry for shoes, umbrellas, pet leashes, etc. It could even work in a small dining nook where you'd prefer a buffet but must accommodate for circulation around dining chairs. Or...place two of them on either side of your fireplace to enhance the centered focal point without taking up too much space for seating.
So many ideas...I know this piece has got to be the perfect answer to a few design dilemmas out there!

Our Old Lumber company has recently added a new finish option: Weathered Gray.
We were lucky enough to receive these images from a client of ours who purchased these fantastic custom case goods in the new look.
Take a peek...

Looks great! Thanks for choosing this gorgeous "weathered gray" finish, and thanks for sharing your photos with us!

Happy Hall Tree

Every now and then, our long-time vendors introduce a new piece to their collection that just fits the Harvest look perfectly! One of our favorite vendors, The Uttermost, has recently introduced this darling, distressed, two-toned hall tree!

It is made of honey stained, solid mango wood with hand painted, distressed charcoal gray accents. The aged brass coat hooks and antiqued mirror add function, while keeping with the vintage appeal. The convenient seat lifts with safety hinges for storage. If you find this piece as intriguing as I do, contact us to inquire about an order!
Dimensions: 44 W X 74 H X 18 D (in)

We can work it out...

Looking for a worktable solution? Look no further than our customizable, hand crafted, reclaimed wood furniture. This stately work table is the latest addition to our Old Lumber Collection.
You'll find it front and center in our Burlingame store, and near the back of our Menlo Park showroom.
The robust scale and rustic top provide the ideal workspace for projects large and small.

This table also accomodates bar-height stools to create a unique pub-height gathering spot.
We're loving the french laundry slip-covered stools pictured above.

Depending on your needs, we can also build coordinating bookcases, seating, mirrors, and cabinets to go along with the rustic table.

One-of-a-kind: Vintage Nurse's Station

If you're familiar with Harvest you know that we occasionally bring in a few one-of-a-kind items to add history and character to our displays. Well, this piece is no exception!
This vintage nurse's station, finished with sky blue enamel, is an absolute conversation piece. It's just waiting for the right buyer with a creative mind and love for all things shabby-chic.

Wouldn't it be darling in a boy's room as a homework desk?
Or maybe in the kitchen with cookbooks and an old-fashioned phone?
Perhaps in the entry for keys, mail, and bills?
So many possibilities....!

New Arrivals...Vintage Cabinets!

Come by our Menlo Park store to check out all of our latest and greatest one-of-a-kind case goods!
The finish on this piece is incredible, so many layers of history and color!

I love this size in a dining room. The profile is nice and slim, allowing plenty of room to move dining chairs in and out. The height, however, is grand and lends a formality to this otherwise distressed find

Love the multi-functional storage drawers with glass door display above. This piece would be an ideal microwave stand in the kitchen (micro on top, cookbooks on shelves, extra knick-knacks in drawers), or you could use in a powder room, (tray of toiletries and apothecary bottles on top, rolled towels on shelves, and extra soaps, clips, hairbrushes, etc in drawers).

the shutter front makes this unique cabinet so appealing for a coastal retreat

Much like an old pie safe, this cool little cabinet has a screen front doors. It would work great for storing electronics that need to "breathe". We love to come up with current uses for antique objects.
