Trend Alert: Brass is Back in a Big Way!
Browsing through shelter magazines, searching design blogs, and sourcing the latest introductions in interior design can bring trends to the surface. One trend that seems to be on the rise is BRASS! Yep, that's right, brass is back in a big way! The latest brass accents appear more refined, time-worn and antiqued. It's not the shiny, 80's brass that we all so quickly removed from our doors and bathroom walls in order to update our new homes. The new brass has character and a bit of vintage flair.
The new brass is best displayed as an accent metal, perfectly at ease among a mix of aged pewter, oil-rubbed bronze and the like. To integrate this trend in your own home, start with a few interesting accents. Perhaps a pharmacy style lamp on your office desk, or a few chunky, brass candlesticks on the mantle.

Vintage Beauty
I recently scored this amazing piece at a local antique shop. I thought about bringing it into the store, but decided to keep it for myself. Sorry guys; it's just too perfect in my new dining room. :)
I love all the little drawers with labeled pulls, perfect for organizing small baubles like napkin rings, place cards, and votives. It's not your typical dining room buffet, but I think every room has a place for something out of the ordinary. I'll be sure to post pictures of the install once the dining room is complete.
If you're loving this look we carry a similar replica from Aidan Gray Home. The finish is more of a white-wash and the pulls are different, but the concept is the same. (see below)
We're always out and about gathering unique finds for the stores. If you ever have something specific in mind, just e-mail us and we'll put it on our request list.

Considering these new dining chairs...
Upon my return from the Vegas World Market, Karsten and I have been working on new and exciting items to introduce this fall. We're considering a few of these fabulous dining chair options, and would love your input on whether or not we should add them to our dining collections.
What do you think?
Looking forward to your thoughts and comments...

Happy Labor Day!
Hope all you hard workers out there enjoyed a bit of rest and relaxation over this long Labor Day weekend.
It's always sad to see summer come to an end, but fun to reflect on all the great memories made in the sun. Here's looking forward to a few lingering, warm nights before autumn falls upon us.
